Sorry to interrupt your morning run or sunrise photoshoot, but they used to hang pirates here.

Good for an evening walk, right on the battery and the edge of downtown Charleston.

Pirates were hanged here in the 1700s. Today, this public park at the tip of the peninsula is shaded by stately oak trees and lined with benches and surrounded by stunning Antebellum mansions.

Great for a run, looking at historical homes, sunsets and picnics.

From here you can see where the twin rivers empty into the Atlantic Ocean, and Fort Sumter, site of the first battle of the Civil War (more on that later).
