During the soviet era religious activities were banned so the mosque had to be turned to history museum to escape demolition. Following Armenian independence it was renovated with support from Iran

The only remained place from the time Iran governed Armenia; the rest has been ruined in an earthquake almost 100 years ago. It was repaired by Iranians and is managed by them now.

باور نكردنيه مسجد به اين زيبايى در ايروان !!! مدير مسجد يه بانوى ارمنى ايرانى بسيار مؤدب و دوست داشتنى و عاشق تاريخ و فرهنگ ايران !!! اگر حضور داشتند حتماً از اطلاعاتشون استفاده كنين ... 💝
